I Have Decided to Grow in My Faith

Life Church has a simple plan for spiritual growth called the Word, the Table and the Towel. No matter where you’re at in your faith, a “looker” exploring who Jesus is and why you’ve gotta have him or a growing Christian, God’s plan for you involves doing life with other people who want to grow:

The Word
“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers” (Acts 2:42).

The early church gathered together to hear the teaching of the apostles. These men were eyewitnesses to Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Teaching and preaching was a normative practice in the early church–they sang Scripture, ate it in the sacraments and devoted themselves to putting it into practice. At Life Church we believe that God’s Word changes people. If you want to grow spiritually, commit yourself to the Word.

The Table

The Gospels tell us that Jesus loved eating and drinking so much that he was accused of being a glutton and a drunk. The early church shared Jesus’ love for breaking bread and met in each other’s homes with glad and sincere hearts. At Life Church we practice table-fellowship in our Life Groups. Commit yourself to doing life and breaking bread with others and you will grow in your faith. The Towel
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10).

What is a spiritual gift? A spiritual gift is any ability that is empowered by God’s Spirit to build people up and help them. You can practice the power of God by serving in a Life Church ministry and in your community. The best way to find out what your gift is, is to find a need and meet that need. If you call yourself a Christian, God calls you to wrap the towel of service around your waist. Why not try a Sunday serving opportunity?
