PRAYER
What is prayer?
Prayer is communicating with God through talking with Him and listening to Him. We believe that Jesus is living, active, and still speaking. Through prayer, we have the privilege of hearing what He says, and that is life-changing!
Why Pray?
We pray to become closer to God, to be made more like Jesus, to be in His presence, and to be in His will. Prayer isn’t boring, and when we talk with God we see Him move; we experience miracles. Jesus tells us that the Father longs to bless us in the same way that we long to bless our children, “And I tell you, ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives….What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Luke 11:9-13). At Life Church, we believe in community, and we love watching God move as we do life together.
Sunday Morning Prayer Teams
Each Sunday, we have a team of people praying with our pastors and elders before service starts. We call this the Furnace.Prayer teams also are available each Sunday at the back of the worship center for prayer ministry. If you are looking for a place to connect and serve, the prayer teams are a great way to get involved.
